Artist: Earthquake Pills, Album: Autodidactaphone, Song: Frankenstino

Earthquake Pills were a rock band from Calgary, Alberta.  They released the album, Autodidactaphone, in 1997.  They were Chris Temple, Steve Elaschuk, Kara Keith and Mark Igglesden.  I first stumbled across the song, Frankenstino, on a North By Northwest sampler.  It kind of reminded me a bit of the Hold Steady.  My search for more information took me back to the Calgary punk scene in the early nineties, where all of the members in this band cut their teeth.  Chris and Steve were in a very popular band called Wagbeard before they formed Earthquake Pills.  Mark was a member of the Primrods.  It doesn't appear that Earthquake Pills lasted beyond their next album in 1999, before the members left to focus on other projects.  Steve Elaschuk is in a garage rock band called the Neckers that is still active and playing shows currently in the Calgary area.  You can purchase the album, Autodidactaphone, on Itunes.  You can hear the song, Frankenstino, on You Tube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0wN7eYUGlw&feature=channel_video_title).  Thanks for reading and enjoy!
