"There's a mountain behind my back made by the stones I kept throwing back. Turn around to take stock, there she is standing tall. Oh mountain, mountain of me." Laura Repo is a singer songwriter from Ontario. She recorded her debut, Mountain Of Me, on her own Repo Girl Records label, in 1998. She enlisted the production talents of John Switzer (Jane Siberry, Andrew Cash, Rebecca Campbell) for this album and he brought along a couple of his friends. Both Andrew Cash (see blog 2/12/11) and Rebecca Campbell (see blog 6/4/11) contributed their vocals to this album. Laura is a wonderful lyricist with a voice that could fill a room. Her style is country though as you'll witness on the title track, her music can rock in the same vein as say, Kathleen Edwards. You can check out the song, Mountain Of Me, on You Tube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PY8QSbiQRqY). Laura has released three albums to date and her most recent was released earlier this month entitled, Get Yourself Home. You can follow her at http://laurarepo.ca/. You can purchase the album, Mountain Of Me, on Itunes. Thanks for reading and enjoy!
