Artist: Wordburglar, Album: Burglaritis, Song: The Route

"I'll never forget the time the police questioned me about a crime committed by the guy in number 5.  It sucks, he still owed me 20 bucks."  Wordburglar is a hip hop artist from Halifax.  He started his career as SJ but after his first single, Wordburglar, he adopted that name instead.  He released his debut in 2003 and to date has three full length releases.  The most recent was released this past year.  Burglaritis was his second release in 2006 and included this hilarious track called, The Route.  He chronicles the life of a paperboy "risking his life to bring you the news".  Wordburglar is probably best described as an old school rap artist.  The beats are clean and his rhyming is exceptional.  He doubles as a stand up comedian/actor as well.  He is one of a few emerging underground hip hop artists that is making a name for himself on indie and college radio.  You can follow him at http://www.wordburglar.com/.  He has a show coming up in Toronto on Jan.28th at Rancho Relaxo.  His discography including this album is available on Itunes.  You can watch the video for the song, The Route, on You Tube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eo5SudpANHg).  As always, you can hear this song as well as others that I blog about each day on Live 365 (http://www.live365.com/stations/raisedoncndnradio).  Thanks for reading and enjoy!
