Artist: The Flying Public, Album: Harmony Lunch, Song: When They Call My Name
"C'mon, C'mon, C'mon, you must hate it when they call my name." The Flying Public were a four piece with a big sound from Kitchener, Ontario. They released what I believe to be their only album in 2004, entitled, Harmony Lunch. Harmony Lunch is actually a 50's style diner in the city of Kitchener that has been around for half a century or so. The band's members were Jon McGough, Kyle Squance, Dave Moore and Cameron Dunning. The album only included 7 tracks but the first one, When They Call My Name, is blazing. From the opening drum intro until it's end, this song never lets up. Unfortunately, the band doesn't appear to be recording together anymore and I think this release likely had a very limited pressing. At the time of this blog, there weren't any copies of the album for sale that I could find. You can hear the song, When They Call My Name, on You Tube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRepxKpQJL0). As always, you can hear this song as well as others that I blog about each day on Live 365 (http://www.live365.com/stations/raisedoncndnradio). Thanks for reading and enjoy!
