Artist: Dave Rave & The Crashtones, Album: Dave Rave Anthology Vol.1, Song: Rock The Party
"Rock, Rock, Rock The Party!" Dave Rave is a musician from Hamilton, Ontario. He has had a long affiliation with the punk and garage rock scene since the late seventies. He worked closely with Teenage Head on many of their albums and even assumed the role of lead singer for a short period. He's a true pop genius that might actually be more popular beyond our borders than within them. Rock The Party was a song recorded during his time with the band the Crashtones. The song apparently was written following their first gig together in Buffalo. It was recorded in one afternoon and released as part of a two volume anthology featuring the music of Dave Rave and his various bands in 2006. If you like rock, I highly recommend this release. Dave has released some wonderful material throughout his career and it's great to see him preserving his legacy through re-issues. He's worked with Daniel Lanois, Alex Chilton (Big Star, Box Tops) and the Trews. He's also been featured on the BBC. He released a solo album this year and is currently touring Canada and US in the next few months. You can follow Dave and his career at http://www.dave-rave.com/. The Dave Rave Anthology Vol.1 is available from his website and Amazon.com. You can watch the video for Rock The Party on You Tube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjJzOajwYG4&feature=related). As always, you can hear this song as well as others that I blog about each day on Live 365 (www.live365.com/stations/raisedoncndnradio). Thanks for reading and enjoy!
