Madcats were a Toronto based rock band that formed during the late seventies. They were Grant Fullerton, Bobby Blake, Brad MacDonald, John Erdman and Glen Gratto. Fullerton had been around the scene since the late sixties and early seventies with bands like The Stitch In Tyme and Lighthouse. In 1975, Fullerton and MacDonald started a band called Fullerton Dam and when that band folded, they recruited new members and signed a deal with Skyline Records as The Madcats. They released their self titled debut in 1978 with the very controversial "Straight jacketed Woman" on the front cover. Their sound was blues rock but what made them unique was that they had two very strong yet different vocalists. The album was solid with some wonderful rock anthems including this single, Woman's Got The Power Over Me. You can check out the song on You Tube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gu9OMhU2wM&list=UUppSJ2-WmKhVgELd07MXO3w&index=1&feature=plcp). The band would release one more album in 1981 with Domenic Troiano's (see blogs 11/10/10, 8/16/11) label, Freedom, before calling it quits. The Madcats discography has been restored in recent years and is available for download on Itunes. Thanks for reading and enjoy!
