The Bookroom were a new wave band from Toronto that formed during the eighties. They were multi instrumentalist brothers, Steve and Mark Goodall. They were born in England and Steve actually had some success in a band called, Strange Days, before immigrating to Canada. Once in Canada, he and his brother set up a studio and independently released their self titled debut in 1988. The album received some strong radio and video support in Canada which attracted the interest of Intrepid Records. The brothers would get a major label push for their sophomore release in 1991. They toured in support of the album and went back into the studio to begin recording again before eventually disbanding. Today, Steve Goodall continues to write and record music and you can follow him at http://www.myspace.com/stevegoodall. Living In A Real World is a great tune that brings side one to a close off their debut album. You can hear the song on You Tube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mXd1nIzZdI). The album is a difficult find today. At the time of this blog, there was one copy trading on Amazon for $10. Thanks for reading and enjoy!
