Artist: Sianspheric, Album: Somnium, Song: Flow, Ebb & Die
Sianspheric are a rock band from Burlington, Ontario that started their career in the early nineties. In 1995, they released their debut entitled, Somnium, on Sonic Unyon Records out of Hamilton. It was a trippy, rock record with equal parts influence from Pink Floyd as well as contemporary artists like Swervedriver, whom they were often compared to. The band had this sound scape about their music and this particular track, Flow, Ebb & Die is no exception. The lead singer almost chants over the instrumental backdrop. The last song on this album is actually 21 minutes in length! The band has released 6 albums to date and two of the original members are continuing to carry the torch today. Unfortunately, despite their longevity, the band has had some brushes with potential greatness but never quite got the attention they deserved. They were supposed to support Swervedriver in 1998 on tour but the plans were called off at the last moment. They watched bands from their own hometown like The Rainbow Butt Monkeys become famous as Finger Eleven. They soldiered on and continued releasing material and toured Canada whenever possible. You can follow the band at http://www.sianspheric.com/. Somnium is available for download on Itunes. You can hear the song, Flow, Ebb & Die, on You Tube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1Fz3nIY7YA). Thanks for reading and enjoy!
