Artist: Duotang, Album: The Cons & The Pros, Song: Don't Give Up
"And the more that I push for my place, I just keep falling flat on my face. And the one's that think I've fallen from grace, just keep pushing their views in my face." Duotang were a 2 piece from Winnipeg that formed in 1995. They were one of a few great bands that signed on with Mint Records in Vancouver. Rod Slaughter was the vocalist, bassist and keyboard player while Sean Allum was the drummer. Their influence was British invasion stuff like the Kinks, Who, Beatles. The duo had a big sound and the track, Don't Give Up, is a three minute charm. The band released three albums between 1995 and 2001. They then took a break and Rod Slaughter has been filling his time as the vocalist of the band Novillero. I'm not sure if we will ever see these guys record again but you can find this album and their entire discography on Itunes. You can read about the band at http://www.mintrecs.com/. You can hear the song, Don't Give Up, on You Tube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhdaZwl6TDQ). As always, you can hear this song as well as others that I blog about each day on Live 365 (http://www.live365.com/stations/raisedoncndnradio). Thanks for reading and enjoy!
