Artist: Prairie Oyster, Album: One Kiss, Song: Sweet, Sweet Girl To Me
"She was a sweet, sweet girl to me. No matter where I go, no matter who I see. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. She was a sweet, sweet girl to me." There are a number of interesting definitions for the term Prairie Oyster. I'll leave it to you to Google. Musically, Prairie Oyster is a country band from Ontario that formed in the mid seventies playing clubs and taverns in Toronto. They wouldn't record their first album until 1986 with Stoney Plain Records. They were quickly picked up by RCA for their next release and went on to become multiple Juno award winners and recent members in the Canadian Country Music Hall Of Fame. They have 8 releases to date and a handful of number one singles as well as gold and platinum records. In 2006, they decided to re-group and release a self-produced album of originals and covers called, One Kiss. It included this rockin' tune, Sweet, Sweet Girl To Me. The song was actually written by Don "Sea Of Heartbreak" Gibson. If you like your 50's rock n' roll with a bit of honky tonk you'll dig this track. You can follow the band at http://www.prairieoyster.com/. Prairie Oyster's recent release, One Kiss, is available on Itunes. You can hear the song, Sweet, Sweet Girl To Me, on You Tube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gGo8FQlu8pY). Thanks for reading and enjoy!
