Winter Gloves is a synth rock band from Montreal, Quebec. They are Charles F, Vincent Chalifour, Patrick Sayers and Nico Ormiston. The band was born when Charles recorded some pop songs and posted them on his MySpace page. The overwhelming response led to the formation of the band and eventual release of their debut EP, Let Me Drive. The band would toss copies of the CD out from the stage during their shows and one eventually made it's way to Paperbag Records who, in turn, signed the band. This would lead to the release of their debut full length album entitled, About A Girl, in 2008. The band has toured internationally with label mates, Tokyo Police Club as well as You Say Party. As good as their original recordings have been to date, they perform a really cool cover of the Nirvana classic, Smells Like Teen Spirit, on this promotional compilation for Paperbag Records. It is a free compilation that you can download at http://paperbagrecords.com/downloads/seven-year-itch. It was released in 2009 to celebrate the label's seven year anniversary. You can hear the Nirvana cover by Winter Gloves at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0_ob4VifEE. Winter Gloves have released two albums to date and they can be purchased on Itunes.
