The Populars were a 3pc rock band from Prescott, Ontario. They were Dave Klym, Ernie Basiliadis and Ben Wilson. Basiliadis and Klym were originally from Alberta and did some extensive touring together before moving to Ontario and recruiting Wilson. They released their indie debut in 2005 to some critical acclaim before dropping their sophomore album in 2008. The album was entitled, A Pill For Everyone, and it was produced by the Canadian power pop king, Moe Berg (The Pursuit Of Happiness). Good News, is a fun tune with classic rock guitar grooves. Worth checking out if you can find it! Unfortunately, the album appears to be only available on the resale market. At the time of this blog, there were copies trading on Ebay and Amazon between $5 and $15. I don't believe the band is recording together anymore but they did set up a Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Populars/). Klym is now part of a music composition and production company called, i-81 (http://www.i81productions.com/). Thanks for reading and enjoy!
