Sedona Bane were a six piece band from Toronto that released their indie self titled debut in 1995. They were led by singer songwriter, Lynn Bishop. The band also included musicians, Bill Hermans, Ted Peacock, Kevin Fox, Tim Hadley and Lisa Patterson. The album was produced by Hermans and recorded in Toronto. I'm not sure what happened to the band following this release but I do know a couple of the names have continued to work within the Toronto music scene. Bill Hermans has engineered albums for bands like Rush, Lighthouse, Acid Test and Gregory Hoskins (see blog 11/25/10). Lisa Patterson runs her own studio called Imaginit Music (http://www.imaginitmusic.com/). Cello player, Kevin Fox, has released his own albums and has toured and collaborated with just about everyone in the business. I believe I saw him live in Danny Michel's band once. He is apparently composing arrangements for artists as diverse as Justin Bieber and Kathleen Edwards currently. You can follow him at http://kevinfox.ca/. As for Lynn, I think she is a mixed media artist now and you can check out her work at http://lynnbishop.ca/. If you like the artwork on this particular release, it was actually the work of another Canadian artist, Christian McLeod (http://www.christianmcleod.com/). The album is a difficult find today but you can still purchase copies from Indiepool.com. You can hear the song, Blueshade, on You Tube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfnIUWENGhM). Thanks for reading and enjoy!
