Artist: Kristy Thirsk, Album: Under Cover EP, Song: When Doves Cry
Kristy Thirsk is a singer songwriter from Vancouver, B.C.. She joined the band, The Rose Chronicles, in the early nineties and they were signed to Nettwerk Records. Their debut album won the Juno for Best Alternative Album in 1995. They beat out Sloan, 54-40 and Our Lady Peace that year, to win the award. The Rose Chronicles broke up in 1997 but Thirsk was already moonlighting with another band called Delerium. They were the ambient, electronic side project to industrial act, Front Line Assembly. The introduction of guest, female vocalists like Kristy Thirsk, helped broaden their fan base worldwide. That connection with Delerium still exists today although she also found time to release her solo debut in 2003 and this follow up EP, Under Cover, in 2008. Undercover is a 4 song EP that features 3 originals and a cover of Prince's hit, When Doves Cry. You can hear the song, When Doves Cry, on You Tube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDxsTKDGBwI). You can purchase, Under Cover, on Itunes. Thanks for reading and enjoy!
