Artist: Angela Desveaux, Album: If Ever I Loved, Song: Let Me Roll It
Angela Desveaux is a singer songwriter from Montreal. Similar to the story of Basia Bulat (see blog 10/30/2010), Angela caught the ear of former Arcade Fire drummer and producer, Howard Bilerman, who produced her debut album in 2006. Her sound is alt country and she sounds a lot like Lucinda Williams on this blazing cover of the Paul McCartney and Wings song, Let Me Roll It. The song is on her most recent release which is a limited edition 7 inch entitled, If Ever I Loved. It was released in 2009 and is also available for download on Itunes. To date she has two full length albums to her credit and has toured Canada, the US and Europe. She is signed to Thrill Jockey Records out of Chicago and is working on a new album. You can hear the song, Let Me Roll It, on You Tube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tosAgdOHc64). As always, you can hear this song as well as others that I blog about each day on Live 365 (http://www.live365.com/stations/raisedoncndnradio). Thanks for reading and enjoy!
